Why are we fundraising?

One of the most inspiring people we know is our dear friend Louise. Born with Cystic Fibrosis, she has endured countless treatments and interventions just to live the life many of us take for granted.

In 2008, Louise received a double lung transplant just in time to save her life. Since then, she has honored her donor by living life to the fullest, and we are continually in awe of her positivity and resilience.

In 2023, Louise was diagnosed with rejection in her 15th year post-transplant—a tough reality to face. Shortly after, she learned she would need chemotherapy and radiotherapy to treat a rare plasmablastic lymphoma, caused by years of anti-rejection medication. Unfortunately, her chemotherapy has been far more gruelling than hoped, spending much of her time in the hospital.

We had already been planning a fundraiser for CF research and to contribute to an adventure fund for Louise and her partner in crime, Ian. With this difficult turn of events, the need for this fund has become even more urgent. We really want to enable Louise and Ian to plan experiences that will help them stay positive throughout this tough treatment journey.

We hope this raffle will raise money not only for CF research but also give Louise and Ian the chance to create joyful memories together in the months ahead.

Everyone is welcome to purchase a raffle ticket! For those outside the UK, we kindly ask for help with postage, and please note that you’ll need to cover any applicable taxes

Disclaimer: This fundraiser is organised by Samantha Bryan and Helaina Sharpley to support both unforgettable adventures and memory-making experiences for Louise & Ian, as well as vital research into Cystic Fibrosis. Samantha and Helaina will collect and manage all contributions, with 100% of funds raised (minus payment processing fees) going directly to these causes: 50% to Louise’s adventure fund and 50% to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. Please note, donations are not tax-deductible and do not qualify as charitable donations. Your generosity means the world—thank you for standing with Louise and for supporting the advancement of CF research!
