Sylvia
Introducing …Brain’s Motion Acclimatisation Swing
STORY: The latest breakthrough in fairy flight training: the Motion Acclimatisation Swing is designed for fairies still finding their wings. This ingenious contraption helps develop balance, coordination, and—most crucially—the art of staying airborne without an unexpected tumble. It’s designed to have fairies soaring with confidence in no time.
SPECIFICATION: Sylvia wears a striking hand-stitched flight suit in rarely seen seafoam green leather. She wears earmuffs, flight goggles and a standard issue acorn cup flight helmet. Her swing is mahogany wrapped in vintage thread. I love collecting old dusty spools of thread, the colours are hard to replicate elsewhere.
Her swing hangs from a converted vintage wooden mill bobbin, adapted for wall mounting with a single screw. The bobbin serves as a bracket for its suspended sculpture, ensuring both easy installation and a sense of movement within the piece. These bobbins have waited patiently on my treasure shelf for years, making them all the more special in their new role.
