Brain's Dust Identifying Apparatus for fairies

 

This sculpture was shortlisted for the New Lights Art Prize in 2013.

STORY: This apparatus was developed in response to DFWB (Department for Fairy Well-being) investment. They aim to reduce fairy fatigue by commissioning a series of labour saving devices designed to assist with the processing of fairy-dust. The Dust Identifier radically speeds up Fairy-Dust Identification, therefore contributing to an efficient and improved dust processing service.

SPECIFICATION: This piece features a tan leather figure. A brass contraption has been hand built around a magnifying lens. The sculpture is mounted on a wooden base moulded from reclaimed wood. It has a typed label and is signed underneath.
